Scams that effect your insurance

Insurance scams

Insurance scams are every where and you could fall victim to one just as easy as the nest person, with anything to do with money and the thought of being able to get away with it opens the way for opportunist scams and fraud. There are many scams to keep an eye out for when on the road, in your home and online. Scams are every where and it always pays to know what scams are about and how they can effect you.

Here are many common scams that are popular with fraudsters

The windshield scam
Is where a sales rep approaches you in the supermarket, garage, at your door or when you are at work and says that your windscreen needs replacing and that you can get it done for free and even make some money for doing so in your pocket today.  If this happens and you are approached by a stranger from an UN familiar company say no!!!

Because he replaces your windscreen, but will then lies to your insurance company about how the windscreen was broken beyond from repair and it NEEDED replacing immediately. He will then charge a very high emergency repair price for doing the job, which will then be sent to your insurance company sending your premiums high and will lose your no claims bonus. It also has the potential to go further and get your in trouble with both insurance company and authorities.

Crash scam
This scam is ever increasing because the chances of getting a good pay out is high, it involves another car breaking in front of you and hitting the breaks so you then go careering into it. You are then made to give out your insurance details because you are in the wrong and this opens the way for injury claims and more.

Just be sure to keep your distance, some people have installed cameras in front of their vehicles so they do not fall victim to this crash scam.

Lose your job or sick insurance scam
Your at work and a representative from an insurance company turns up offering you insurance in case you lose your job or are sick and not able to work for any length of time. You then take the policy out and find out that even if you lose your job or are sick you are not able to fulfill the policy in any way. Many people have paid into these types of insurance scams and have found out the hard way that they are only entitled to two weeks or a very small amount of money, you will then find yourself in the deep end with out any help at all.

If you are going to take up this type of employment insurance, in the event that you may lose your job or are sick and cannot work then contact a well known company and read the policy thoroughly before signing it. Employment scams are the worst kind because you will not find out t=until it is to late.
